In order to enter Namibia, a passport valid for six months after date of entry is required; contact your nearest travel agent or embassy for up-to-date information.
Namibian Currency
The Namibian Dollar, SA Rand, Visa and MasterCard are accepted. No credit cards are accepted at petrol stations.
Taxes and Refunds Within Namibia
All goods and services are priced to include value added tax of 15%. Visitors may reclaim VAT at the Hosea Kutako International Airport, Eros- and Walvis Bay Airport.
What To Wear in Namibia
Most of Namibia is covered by desert, so the climate is what you would expect from a desert country. Extremely hot daytime temperatures in summer and extreme cold night temperatures in winter.
Summer: bring cool cotton clothing and loads of sunblock. Winter: bring light clothing with a sweater or jacket for cool mornings and evenings.

Health Services In Namibia
Namibia is a relatively healthy country, However it is always worth while taking precautions and consulting your doctor.
- Malaria - North of Namibia (Etosha park northwards) is a Malaria area so it would be advised to take prophylaxis during summer months.
- Hospitals - Main hospitals in Namibia are of a good standard with clean and safe facilities. Serious medical cases will be evacuated by air to South Africa where further facilities are available. For the reason stated above it would be advised to take out a comprehensive travel insurance before you travel,which should include any medical expenses, air evacuation and repatriation if necessary.
