In order to enter Namibia, a passport valid for six months after date of entry is required; contact your nearest travel agent or embassy for up-to-date information.

The Namibian Dollar, SA Rand, Visa and MasterCard are accepted.  No credit cards are accepted at petrol stations.

  • Malaria – North of Namibia (Etosha park northwards)  is a Malaria area so it would be advised to take prophylaxis during summer months.
  • Hospitals – Main hospitals in Namibia are of a good standard with clean and safe facilities. Serious medical cases will be evacuated by air to South Africa where further facilities are available. For the reason stated above it would be advised to take out a comprehensive travel insurance before you travel,which should include any medical expenses, air evacuation and repatriation if necessary.
